The works involved the demolition of the existing Fire Station and the construction of a new build retail unit. This involved the installation of 31no piles and the construction of a strip foundation and concrete slab. The construction of a new stonework external wall and insulated roof and wall cladding created a new vibrant look to the village. Extensive external works which consisted of a new tarmac finish, white lining and creation of a crossing to enable access onto the site had to be carefully planned in order to minimise disruption to local residents.
