The works involved complete strip out and overhaul of the existing retail units to create a new 3000m2 Home Bargains store including a new Café and Garden Centre. The adjacent retail units remaining open for the duration of the project created challenges that we were able to overcome through communication between the project team in delivering a design & build project. An acceleration of the programme allowed us to fit out the store whilst external works continued, this meant the store was open earlier than expected. The works involved including new external walling, new roof, steelwork alterations, service yard slab and Garden Centre fencing. Our biggest challenge was undertaking the external works within the front car park as this was required to be done in a phased manor as to avoid disruption to the other stores.
